Charles Hart Jewellers - Trading Since 1820
Charles Hart is known throughout the Somerset area for carrying out good quality jewellery and watch repairs at very competitive prices. We can carry out repairs on most items of jewellery and watches.
We have our very own local goldsmith from Frome who can carry out sizing to rings, chain & bracelet repairs, engraving and more. We also use an external goldsmith for stone setting work. We can obtain a free quote to replace any missing stones in your piece of jewellery.
Other repairs that we are able to do include pearl re stringing, hand engraving and re plating. We are not able to carry out clock repairs.
We undertake valuations for Insurance, Probate, and Division between parties (divorce etc). Our valuer has been appraising jewellery etc for nearly forty years and is a member of the National Association of Goldsmiths. Many professionals use our valuation service and our fee starts at £75. This includes the valuation of one item.
Thereafter each item from 2-10 we charge £10 per item, thereafter we charge £5 per item. For this, you receive a full appraisal of the worth of the item(s), a photograph, a copy for your insurers and full explanatory notes.
We do not take your address at any time during the process to maintain your full security.
Vintage Tom is the online jewellery business of Charles Hart Limited. We offer an extensive range of beautiful high-quality vintage jewellery from Victorian to modern pre-owned, to include our collections of beautiful necklaces, chains and pendants, antique earrings, bracelets and bangles, brooches, watches and more.
All our items are gift wrapped and come with a full appraisal plus we offer a full 14-day no quibble money back guarantee if you do not like the item. We also allow you to buy 2 items to send one or both back if they do not fit.
Vintage Tom is fast gaining a reputation to buy and sell your jewellery and we offer a commission based selling service to our clients. We regularly gain between 30% – 100% higher prices than going to auction, the latter carrying more risk and longer to make the sale.
